Ahh the trash fairies, they don't do that enough in DC. I once tried to go through what I thought was trash only to be yelled at by someone. I later found out that he was recently evicted from his apartment and didn't know what to do with his stuff [WhOops!]
I remember the wonderful pieces of furniture we acquired just from walking around. Yep, definitely unique to NY.
